This is a bridge in Paris. You hang locks on it with the name of you & your boyfriend/girlfriend/best-friend then throw the key into the river. So even though the friend/relationship may end, you can’t remove the lock. It stays there forever, as relevance to someone once a part of your life.
I love the idea of this.
teeenagediirtbag: I’ve seen this, its beautiful. So many padlocks, it just proves that there’s so much love around. One day, i’ll go back to Paris and lock a padlock on this bridge and throw the keys into the water. I’ll feel love.
not to be a sappy twat but me and boyfriend randomly came across this as the sun was setting in Paris, i knew it existed, but i had no idea we’d find it. opposite the locks is a bench called the lovers bench, we sat on it, saw day time Paris turn to night, and it was one of the nicest things ever. And reading the locks is actually so sweet too, there’s some real love out there. I hope we return one day maybe with our own lock.
